Unique chairs: Design Week Milano 2023

Travel

The chair is undoubtedly the most redesigned object by industrial designers each year for the designed week. This year, I had the opportunity to see an array of new chairs.

I would like to document a few of the remarkable ones–

1. Zig Zag and Tam Tam Stools: Finished in glossy vivid colored lacquer by Polspotten, that can also double as side tables. They are stackable, fun and sturdy.

2. OTO chair: This chair by One To One is a single material: the assembly process does not require the use of screws or metal inserts. The chair comes from a single mold, packaged in a recycled and recyclable pulp pack.

3. Loop pouf: The purpose was to compose a huge variety of combinations of several poufs in different environments, whether it is a hallway, a bedroom, a living room, or a children’s room.

4. Due piu: The chair by Acerbis looks like 2 floating rollers with a minimalist steel frame and Mongolian fur. All three modes of use are surprisingly ergonomic and comfortable: regular sitting, side sitting with one arm resting on the upper roller, and reverse sitting.

Honestly, there are many more. You can just open either Designboom or Archiproducts to find something you might like.

Ps. The chair in the display picture of the blog is ‘the petal chair’ by Louis Vuitton at Design Week Milano 2023
